VAMPIRES
![]() Vampires are undead and therefore cannot impregnate or become pregnant. The creation of new vampires isn’t an especially complex process, but it requires a degree of self-control that most younger vampires do not have. In order to turn a human into a vampire, the human must be drained to within an inch of their life and than fed from the sire’s blood. The change takes a total of three days – after which the newborn vampire will reawaken. More often than not, they are born hungry and wild, in need of restraint and instruction. Hong Kong city rules state that newborn vampires left to wander and found without a sire will be hunted and executed. Their sires will be treated similarly. Shapeshifters cannot be turned. Demigods and mutants may be turned but at the risk of giving up the abilities they had in life. The existing rumor is that turning a demigod or mutant will render their abilities null, leaving them with no extra power at all. In addition to that, turned demigods and mutants are often rejected by what was known as their kind in life and socially regarded as the lowest of the low in the vampire hierarchy, not to be trusted because of their former allegiances in addition to being considered ‘impure’. |
SHAPESHIFTERS
![]() Shapeshifters can be shapeshifters from birth, though very few shapeshifters actually become pregnant and carry the babe to term. Shapeshifter pregnancies are known to be very dangerous for both mother and child for two reasons. Firstly, the change itself can cause the child to miscarry. Secondly, the child in the womb has no control over its ability to change – this complication is typically seen in the third trimester. That being said, not all shapeshifter children receive the gene to change. The other way to become a shapeshifter is the one more typically heard of. Contact with infected blood, seminal fluid, vaginal secretions, contaminated needles, including tattoo/body piercings tools, bites, and sexual contact may cause infection, but does not always. Additionally, not all species are as contagious as the next. Species that are more common in nature are more infectious than species that are rarer. (e.g. It is much more likely for a person to become a wolf shapeshifter by accident than a tiger shapeshifter.) |
DEMIGODS
![]() Demigods are born from one celestial parent and one human/mutant/shapeshifter parent. No matter who the mortal parent is, however, celestial blood will prevail and become the prevalent trait in the child. Occasionally diluted blood will make itself known in the children of true demigods, resulting in humans with some small gifts, but these remain generally unacknowledged by the community. |
MUTANTS
![]() Mutants are the product of evolution. There’s no telling when one of them will pop up or how. Having two mutant parents does not guarantee a mutant child. For that reason multi-generational mutants are incredibly rare. |
